Darren Huckerby scored in the 84th minute Saturday night to lift San Jose past Kansas City 2-1 and out of last place in the Western Conference for the first time all season. Arturo Alvarez also scored for the expansion Earthquakes, whose seven-game unbeaten streak (3-0-4) has pushed them one point ahead of Colorado.

Schelotto has 2 assists in Crew's 2-1 win (AP)
Guillermo Barros Schelotto had two assists, giving him a league-leading 16 on the season, to lead Columbus past FC Dallas 2-1 on Saturday night. The win gave the Crew (12-6-4) the MLS lead with 40 points after New England tied Los Angeles earlier Saturday. The Crew didn't register a shot in the first 23 minutes but then scored both goals in a three-minute span after FC Dallas had taken a 1-0 lead.

Mike Magee had a goal and an assist and Juan Pablo Angel scored his sixth goal in as many games as the New York Red Bulls beat the Houston Dynamo 3-0 on Sunday. Goalie Jon Conway had four saves for his second straight shutout and sixth of the season as the Red Bulls (8-6-7) won their third straight.
