A Thirsty Koala Goes Viral and Raises Awareness Again About Climate Change in Australia [VIDEO]

Australia is one of the countries where the consequences of climate change are being suffered the most.

Apart from the multiple fires that are ravaging the area, high temperatures are affecting the health and daily life of people…and animals.

Such is the effect, that the temperatures these days are above 40 degrees s and make hydrating an imperative need, both for humans and for, for example, koalas.

Precisely, a copy of this adorable species is the protagonist of this story.

According to CNN News, Anna Heusler was riding a bicycle with a group of cyclists in the mountains of Adelaide (Australia) last Thursday when she saw a koala sitting in the middle of the road.

Although this fact was not new, I had seen on more occasions that these animals are placed on the roads, what did result was the reaction of the koala.

“We stopped the bicycles to help the koalas get off the road, since they can be run over by cars, but the koala approached me very quickly, obviously I was very thirsty,” says Heusler.

“While I was taking a drink from our water bottles, he got on my bike. I had never seen a koala move so fast. Usually, they are not animals that mix with people, they stay in trees and people. he admires them from afar. ”

When the koala had drunk from the water bottles of Heusler and his partner, both safely removed the animal from the road. “There is nothing but tragedy in Australia. Everything is burning out of control, ” Heusler laments.

“I hope this episode helps spread what is going on here. Firefighters are the real heroes, not me.”
