As Lincoln Motor Company enters its 80th anniversary in the upcoming year, the luxury car manufacturer will bring back its much loved “Suicide doors”. This iconic door placed in the limited edition Continental sedan is hinged at the rear side as opposed to front.
The “Suicide doors” also known as “Coach doors” are named such because of the risk they possess when opening the same as the car moves. The idea of the door comes from a 1961 car model. Lincoln will bring back only 80 from all of the Continentals with vintage style. All these designs will debut on Monday during the holiday party to be held at Brooklyn before the vehicles appear at the auto shows being organized in Beijing and Detroit during the early half of the upcoming year.
The company mentioned that these cars are now scheduled for delivery by the month of June 2019 which will be exclusive to the U.S. These luxury vehicles will be sold for a price exceeding $100,000. Another limited series run shall come out by the year 2020.
Despite the old-fashioned appearance, this continental will carry modern and luxurious features which include wireless charging and driver assist.
