McDonald’s US sales in the last quarter beat analysts’ estimates

McDonald’s enticed its customers by offering a limited period bacon value meal which has helped the famous fast food chain to lift its US same-store sales in the last quarter.

McDonald’s has redesigned its menu in order to put in new food items like donut sticks, bacon as well as introduced a “2 for $5” new deal. Besides, the company also upgraded its restaurants by bringing in digital menu, new furniture as well as self-ordering kiosks.

These modifications are a part of CEO Steve Easterbrook’s program, “Experience of the Future” which was unveiled about 3 years ago in the US in order to enhance the delivery service as well as restaurant’s ambience.

This is the first time in 4 quarters that McDonald’s has been seeing benefits to its overall US sales comp since the time the program started off, said Easterbrook.

The company said that its US sales increased by 4.5%, which is more than analysts’ predicted estimates of 3.03% increase. Besides this, McDonald’s global same-store sales also increased by 5.4%.

Moreover, McDonald’s recently increased its commodity prices by 2% in order to deal with the ever rising costs.

The company further said that it shall continue expanding its digital as well as delivery options as an effort to boost its sales.
