The Spanish team is playing against Germany. Luis Enrique’s men will have to beat the Germans, not only to access the Final Four, but also to become a fearsome team again.
The image of the Spanish team is no longer what it was. Far is that fearsome and powerful Spain of 2010 or 2012.
The rest of the teams face the red knowing that they have a real chance of doing damage.
Spain is not only asked to win, but to set its own style. After a golden and historical time that Spanish football experienced in 2008 and that ended with the debacle in Brazil in 2014, the Spanish are going through a delicate moment.
We cannot ask the national team to win the European Championship this summer or to beat Germany tonight at the Cartuja, but we can, and must, ask them for a certain degree of competitiveness and commitment.
Spain does not currently have the best squad in the world. Other teams such as France or Belgium are showing an overwhelming style.
However, the Spanish team does not have to envy anyone. Luis Enrique has formed a young, cheerful and highly projected squad.
For this reason, because they have just reached the elite level with Spain, we cannot ask for titles immediately.
However, they must show a certain degree of commitment and competitiveness.
The Spanish team has players to shine and beat anyone. Time will dictate if it is a winning team and if a trophy will be lifted in the future.
At the moment, the mission is to return to being a competitive and fearsome team.
