The club has issued a few minutes ago the medical report in which it confirms that the Uruguayan suffered during yesterday’s game a fissure in the posterior tibial spine of his right leg.
In principle, this condition will keep the midfielder away from the pitch for a month. It is on a small scale the same injury that Hazard suffered in February during the loss to Levante (1-0).
At the moment he will not travel with the Uruguayan national team to play the international matches that corresponded to him in this break, against Colombia as visitors on Friday the 13th and against Brazil as locals at dawn from Tuesday 17 to Wednesday 18.
With the whites he could lose about 6 matches. 4 in the league (including Atlético de Madrid) and 2 decisive matches in the Champions League (Inter and Shakhtar Donetsk).
He thus joins the casualties due to COVID of Hazard himself and especially of Casemiro. It is not yet known how long the Brazilian will have to be away from the playing fields, since it will depend on whether he tests negative.
